Power of Community - Pedernales Electric Cooperative

Power Possibilities

PEC has a longstanding commitment to renewable power — and you can get involved.

PEC is committed to the goals of reducing future electric use and relying more on renewable sources for the electricity we distribute. PEC contracts with AEP Energy Partners to purchase wind power produced at the South Trent Wind Farm near Sweetwater, Texas. In all, our wind-power purchase is expected to produce enough electricity to power 22,000 to 27,000 of our members’ homes.

To help members who want to contribute directly toward the Co-op's renewable energy goals, PEC offers system interconnection that rewards members who generate electricity and a program to help members find affordable access to solar energy projects.
