Power of Community - Pedernales Electric Cooperative

Building assistance

Strong communities are created from sturdy foundations. Unfortunately, some Hill Country families lack the very foundation that others take for granted, such as a home to call their own. To help strengthen the communities we serve, we have teamed up with building assistance charitable organizations, including Habitat for Humanity®, to help local groups provide economically disadvantaged families with permanent homes.

Through these partnerships, PEC will waive the $200 impact fee normally required to establish service at new locations, as well as the $50 fee required for membership, and we will provide electricity at no cost during construction.

PEC also will waive the $75 establishment fee required for service at an existing location and credit the new home owners' account with $150, which will cover the $50 membership fee and the first $100 of electric use.

We applaud these groups and their work within the communities we serve and appreciate the focus on energy conservation that goes into the construction of each new home. Call 888-554-4732, ext. 6929, for more information about participating.
