"We really focused on our safety programs, new platforms and tools—from the phones to the field—making sure that our employees have the right equipment and right platforms," John said in his presentation.

He also discussed our progress in terms of automation, member convenience and self-service through programs like SmartHub, more efficient operations, cost reductions, increased rate options, a centralization of control, increased emergency preparedness and community involvement.

"2016 is shaping up as a year of great progress for the organization. I'm so proud of our 700-plus employees and the work that they have done throughout the year," John said.

That work, as well as member partnerships, have supported yet another year of tremendous growth. Currently at 287,000 member accounts, we're nearing a 12,000-meter gain as 2016 draws to a close.

"We're achieving great milestones in terms of growth, we're achieving it safely and securely and we're operating with a very, very strong margin," John concluded.

"It's just been a tremendous year," said District 6 Director Paul Graf. "I'm so proud of the hard work we've done to continue bringing this great service to our members."
